Draw a line across a white, letter-size sheet. The sheet must be in horizontal position, and the line must be drawn next to the centre, from one end to the other. Feel free to do it the way you want, using a marker of any kind you like (be it a pen, pencil, etc.). You can also use computer resources, whatever the program is. Adding extra elements to the sheet is up to the author of the line: essentially, I’m interested in the letter-size sheet and the line that lies across.
Step 2
Once you have your line, it would be a great help for the project if you could photograph yourself with your line. This way we could have a proof that it was you who made the line. Nevertheless, the picture is not essential.
Step 3
There are two possible ways for me to get your line:
a) If it is a paper sheet, you can fold it, put it inside an envelope, and send it by mail to the following address:
b) if you have the line and the sheet in your computer, you only need to send it to a.line.project@gmail.com
You can also send the photograph of you and your line to this address. And, please, don’t forget to mention your name, surname, and country you are sending the line from.
Step 4
Spread the news all around you, so more people can participate!
I’ll gather all the lines and fix them one right after the other, making the ends meet. In this way, the long strip of sheets will be the roll that I will turn into a FILM OF SEVERAL AUTHORS.
This movie will be screened during December 2008 and January 2009 at Museo de Arte Contemporáneo, in Santiago, Chile.
